The business community in Broome is a diverse one with its origins in pearling, agriculture and retail, evolving into tourism and hospitality and continuing to thrive and prosper with construction, light manufacture, oil and gas, transport and as a regional service delivery centre. The Broome Chamber of Commerce & Industry is the only organisation bridging the gap between industries, providing appropriate information to all and being a balanced voice amongst many competing interests.

Every business in Broome is affected by its evolving rapid growth. The Broome Chamber is the voice of business in Broome. Make sure your voice is heard by joining the BCC&I.

The BCC&I, formed in 1987, is an important network which provides up to date information about industry development to its member. It acts as a lobby group across local, state and federal government and provides a growing suite of resources to improve the business environment for all members.

Chamber Mission

To be a vigorous organisation providing exceptional value for its members through up to date information and communication services, advocacy and lobbying activities, projects and resources which support sustainable member growth.

The Chamber is guided by its Strategic Plan and Constitution. Both documents are available for viewing and downloading on the Chamber Website.

The Committee

The Chamber Committee consists of an elected President, Past President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and a group of Committee members representing a good range of Broome's business and industry groups. The Committee is elected each year at the Chamber AGM, usually held in October or November.

Tax Benefit

Chamber Membership fees are a fully deductible business tax expense.

Member Assistance

The Broome Chamber supports individual members and groups of members on issues that affect their businesses. Whether it is a need for information, lobbying and briefing government, or promoting Broome opportunities, your Chamber is here to assist. Through our combined efforts we can achieve optimum outcomes for business. For many businesses, organisations and events considering a Broome connection, the BCC&I is the first stop for advice and vital connections.

Business After Hours Networking

Business After Hours is a popular monthly event where members meet together in a relaxed social atmosphere to network. The events are held at member's premises where the host showcases their business and what they have to offer. New products or services can be launched. The BCC&I provides an update on issues of interest to members. Every member has the opportunity to host one of these excellent free events.

Keeping you informed

Keeps you informed through regular communications with an overview of what has been happening in the Broome business world, important changes in the business environment and a diary of upcoming events including cruise ship arrivals. The Newsletter is written with the time restricted business person in mind. Short grabs of information give contacts where you can find out more. The longer Members' Bulletin provides more detailed information. Both provide opportunities for member businesses to promote their products and services.





Kimberley Economic Forum

The region's largest annual forum for presenting and discussing future economic development in the Kimberley. Speakers bring national and international perspectives to address the range of regional industries which contribute so powerfully to Australia's wealth and prosperity.

Regular updates

Weekly media alerts summarise business updates and information in one easy to read emailed document. They are a concise way of keeping up to date with changes in legislation and other issues that may affect your business. Full details of the items in the alert can be obtained from the web link or BCC&I office. Recently added is a Community Notice alert which allows members to access information about non business related events in the community.

Chamber Website Listing and Linking

Each member has a dedicated area on the Chamber's website which allows a name, logo contact information and a short summary of business activities. The listing can also be linked to the member's own website if appropriate.

Assistance with Lobbying and Advocacy

At the quarterly General Meetings held by the Chamber Management Committee, members air their concerns in a forum where action can be discussed and expedited. Members are also encouraged to contact the Chamber at any time with their business concerns via the website, phone or email.

Buy in Broome Television Package

The BCC&I has developed an ongoing television campaign promoting buying in Broome and supporting local business. Participation is very cost effective and an excellent way of testing television as a marketing tool for your business.

Discount Directory

Broome directory listings attract a 10% discount for current BCC&I members on any advertising. The shire directory is a must for every business in Broome.

Chamber Members at the North West Expo

The Chamber's partnership with the North West Expo allows members to purchase exhibition space at a discounted rate.
Members Discounts & Benefits

The Chamber has a growing register of products and services offered at a discount to Chamber members. These are promoted through the Chamber website and Chamber newsletters.

Expert Information Sessions

Throughout the year the BCC&I organises a range of seminars and forums with selected guest speakers on topical issues, such as skilled migration, new employment arrangements and worker accommodation in Broome. Members receive substantial discounts when attending these events.
